I like Oprah Winfrey!

April 18, 2008

I am a huge fan of Oprah. I always watch her show in Studio 23 and there are a lot of times where I cried. Yeah, because everytime that there is something that touched and moved me tears started to fall in my eyes. She is just so inspiring. Know what?…I just read an article about her, saying that she is one of the richest women in the world. (Amazing!)

Anyways, here is her short biography: (from Wikipedia)

Oprah Gail Winfrey (born January 29, 1954) is the American multiple-Emmy Award winning host of The Oprah Winfrey Show, the highest-rated talk show in the history of television. She is also an influential book critic, an Academy Award-nominated actress, and a magazine publisher. She has been ranked the richest African American of the 20th century, the most philanthropic African American of all time, and the world’s only black billionaire for three straight years. She is also, according to some assessments, the most influential woman in the world.

Why Women Love to Shop?

Got interested with the answer to this question because sometimes they associate the word "shop" to malls and spending. I google it and found a nice answer to this question. Here it is:

Actually, I think it’s the gathering instinct. Men are typically considered the hunters. They like to go out, seek out a target, and make the kill. The women are the gatherers. They are programmed to search for berries, roots, and other treasures and to bring them back to the den. That is why men get impatient with women and go hang out in the tool section of the store… stalking their next purchase. Women, meanwhile, go about their business… looking through racks of clothes and searching the sales aisles while they collect bags of treasures to bring back to the den.
